BTG Web Services for Individuals
There are at least three main reasons for individuals needing a professionally developed website: Sharing personal information, posting a resume, and wedding planning.
If you want your friends and family to see what's going on with your life, there are several social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook where you can pretty much say what you want, and post whatever pictures are fit (or not fit) to print. But what if you want a personal site that isn't something that was set up by a teenager?
Sharing personal information
I have spoken to single people who use personal websites as an extension to dating services. With a personal website, there is no limit to the information you wish to share. It's the grownup way to communicate.
Posting a resume
Is it alright to create a professional looking personal website to post your resume? Absolutely. One mistake people make when posting their resume online is that they use sites like MySpace and Facebook – big, big mistake.
I have consulted with human resource professionals concerning what you should include on your personal resume page and what you should not. I can post your resume, portfolio, and work examples in a way that looks professional, and will make you stand out.
Weddings
You’re getting married. Congratulations! What information do you want to communicate to your friends and family? What about the wedding shower, the parties before the wedding, the gift registry, the directions to the church and reception, local hotel information, driving directions, and on and on…?
Make all of this information available to your friends and family. Send them and invitation, and a link to your website. No longer will people miss events because they didn’t get an invitation or a phone call.
Don’t waste more money on postage. I can create an online form for your guests to use to RSVP! They can reply with all the information you need, and it will get emailed directly to your email address.
What about after the wedding? Post pictures of the wedding, reception, and honeymoon. Post a personal message to everyone. Let the memory continue.
I can’t plan your wedding, I won’t D.J. the reception, but I can help make the communication process the one part you won’t need to worry about.
